Fans of The Traitors were shocked to learn about Linda’s incredible vocal skills after an old clip of her performing on stage went viral.
The 70-year-old retired Opera singer quickly became a favourite among fans for her acting skills (or lack thereof). In a clip shared on TikTok, what looked like a younger version of Linda was seen on stage for the 1982 performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto in London. The blonde-haired singer walked across the stage while belting out the track.
Linda is most likely the woman in the clip as Linda Rands is credited as a vocalist on the official Rigoletto soundtrack.Fans were dumbfounded after watching her talent on stage, with many rushing to the comment section to share their surprise. One user commented: “No way!” and another said: “That is so slay of her.”
One BBC viewer added: “Omg so that’s where her acting skills are from hahaha.” One fan pondered: “Imagine if when she announces she’s a traitor, she belts out the most impressive operatic rendition ever,” and another said: “I love her even more now.” Fans have been obsessed with her dramatics on the show.
Earlier in the series, she said at the table: “Oh my god! Who the hell isn’t going to come back?” which quickly went viral. She is also a fan of accusing people of being Traitors if they accuse her of being one. One X/Twitter user said about Linda: “My obsession with Linda grows more and more each episode.
“She brings no tactics to the traitors side, just spends the whole time creating pure cinema with her GCSE drama reactions. Could not be more obsessed.” Another joked: “Linda is so camp and iconic, I hope she survives #TheTraitors. Need her terrible acting skills to continue.”
During last Friday’s roundtable, questions were raised about why Traitor Linda had cried (without shedding any tears) following Faithful Livi’s departure from the competition after she was ‘murdered’ by the traitors overnight. A number of faithful contestants correctly noted that it appeared like a cover-up as they did not feel Linda was that close to Livi.
It wasn’t Linda’s only mistake, as the Traitors were given the task of using a quill to write the names of four Faithfuls they wanted to kill on a painting in the bar area. Linda wrote the names on the painting while fellow Traitor Minah kept watch. However, Linda wrote the ‘Z’ in Fozia the same way she did at the round table. Fans noticed that this could get her outed if the Faithfuls noticed the unique style of writing.
