Tasha Ghouri insisted she wasn’t worried about the infamous Strictly Come Dancing curse – but now she and Andrew Le Page have split up.
The Love Island couple had been going strong since leaving the villa but have now gone their separate ways after “cracks started to show” during Tasha’s time on the BBC dance competition. Tasha, 26, competed on the latest series of Strictly and was paired with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec. She has since been spotted on celebrity dating app, Raya.
But before Tasha and Andrew, 29, met on the ITV dating show in 2022, Tasha was linked to a pro dancer from the series.
The model had a brief relationship with Sicilian dancer Giovanni Pernice. After winning Strictly with EastEnders actor Rose Ayling-Ellis in 2021, Gio reached out to Tasha and whisked her off on a series of dates.
Tasha, who was Love Island’s first-ever deaf contestant, went on swanky dates with Gio, who is said to have initiated the relationship. A source said: “Giovanni was persistent when it came to Tasha. They have a lot in common, both being dancers, and he had just learned a lot about the deaf community performing with Rose on Strictly, who Tasha really admires.
“Tasha was impressed by how gentlemanly he was, taking her out to top London restaurants and offering to send cars to collect her, but she’s independent and always made her own way to see him.”
Ultimately, though, it wasn’t meant to be: “Their romance didn’t progress because Giovanni was travelling a lot with the Strictly tour and Tasha was already involved with someone else.”
After they went their separate ways, Tasha joined Love Island and her romance with Andrew began, while Gio went on to date dancer Jowita Przystal and model Molly Brown.
Speaking to The Sun about romance rumours with Giovanni, Tasha confirmed they had once been in contact. “I’ve met up with him a few times. But that was years ago. We are not in touch now, this is like ancient history,” she insisted. She added that her future was with Andrew and described him as the ‘hottest man alive’ and said there’s no way she’d be lured in by the infamous Strictly curse.
Tasha was born deaf and was previously inspired by Strictly winner Rose, who was the first deaf person to compete on the show. Tasha said Rose “reached out with some great advice” after she was signed up, and that she was “really appreciative.” She also said “she totally gets where I might face challenges and shared some valuable tips.”
Tasha and Andrew are said to have quietly split earlier this month and she has since set up a dating app profile. The TV star has reportedly joined exclusive app Raya and included photos that she had previously shared on Instagram in December.
“Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly,” a source told the Sun. “She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by.”
Tasha will be away from Andrew again as she heads out on the Strictly tour and the couple are said to have “talked about ending their relationship at the start of January”. The source said the pair “hit a rocky patch”.
