The CFL season for the B.C. Lions started with a lively performance by iconic rapper Snoop Dogg. The 35-minute show took place before the Lions faced off against the Edmonton Elks in their first game of the season. Snoop Dogg entertained the crowd with a mix of his popular tracks like “P.I.M.P.,” “Gin and Juice,” and “Drop it Like it’s Hot,” along with brief renditions of songs he has been featured on, such as Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.”
Dressed appropriately for the event, the 53-year-old artist sported a B.C. Lions jersey bearing the number 20 and his name on the back over a black hoodie. To conclude the performance, he autographed several footballs and distributed them to fans in the audience before making a heart gesture with his hands and exiting the stage.
This concert marks a recurring tradition for the Lions, as last year they launched their season with a concert by rapper 50 Cent, drawing a reported crowd of 53,788 attendees.
