A private investigator has shared how a wife caught her husband cheating by using a supermarket rewards scheme app.
Cassie, from Venus Investigations in Australia, spilled the beans on the cunning scheme in a new TikTok video. She said the woman, from Queensland, had approached her after growing suspicious of her husband’s constant trips to New South Wales. After sitting down and discussing the situation, Cassie recommended that the woman looked at any joint rewards accounts they had – prompting an alarming discovery. In the video, Cassie explained: “My client, the wife, wanted to find out how her husband was cheating. We were pretty sure he was up to something.”
At first, the woman checked their joint bank account statements for any tell-tale purchases. She found transactions at the Australian supermarket Coles and a hardware store called Bunnings, but these did not have any locations attached to them, and so did not reveal where he had been.
On Cassie’s advice, the woman then had a look at the Flybuys customer rewards scheme app. Instead of showing the husband in New South Wales 800 miles away during his ‘trips’, the paper trail on the app displayed a string of transactions made in a suburb of Queensland ‘ – where his ex-girlfriend lives.
She said that while the husband would’ve made him few extra loyalty points on the account, it was this mistake that gave away his disloyalty towards his wife – and quipped that he “gave it up for a few extra reward points”. “$10 off your shop but a very expensive divorce,” she added.
Cassie’s story prompted a flurry of responses on the video sharing app – with many praising her ingenuity. One wrote “This is gold”, while someone else said: “the most inconspicuous cheating app!” A different person suggested that the woman hiring in a private investigator was a sign that the relationship was as good as over, writing: “If you’re paying someone to stalk your partner then the relationship is over.” Cassie explained in the comments that her approach was “ethical”, as it meant they “could get her the answer she wanted without charging for expensive surveillance”.
