Maya Jama, 30, took to Instagram today with a gorgeous bikini clip ahead of her massive ITV debut tonight.
The new season of Love Island: All Stars airs at 9pm, and Maya seemed to be taking some time to relax just hours before getting back to work. The TV presenter arrived in South Africa last week, and has been soaking up the sun ahead of kicking off her duties in the new villa.
In her new video, Maya filmed her reflection in a bathroom mirror as she leaned against a door frame. The star went makeup-free, and played with her long brunette hair, which was tied back in a casual ponytail. Maya showed off her enviable figure in a colourful bikini, contrasting with her fresh tan from her days spent in the sunshine.
The line-up for the new series includes plenty of big names from past series, and Maya recently revealed she was interested to see how one couple would fare: exes Marcel Somerville, 39, and Gabby Allen, 32, who broke up in 2018. The former couple met on the third series of Love Island in 2017, which Maya described as “one of her favourites.”
Marcel and Gabby reached the final together, but placed fourth, and continued their romance outside the villa. Unfortunately, they split after Marcel he cheated on Gabby during a romantic holiday following a series of rows.
Despite the break-up, Maya admitted she’s still rooting for them and hopes they can reconcile. She told the Mirror: “I have to be neutral, but I am very excited about Gabby and Marcel. Just because when I was watching that series I was hooked into everything about their relationship. Now I’ve followed them on the outside I think that would be kind of cute or just to see who they do end up with. I think Marcel is such a cutie.”
Alongside her Love Island work, Maya recently joined the panel of The Masked Singer after pop star Rita Ora left the show. Considering her very packed schedule, some rumours have suggested that Maya might step away from TV when she hits 40.
However, Maya clarified that this is not exactly the case, revealing that she asked her financial advisors if she could retire in 10 years. Maya discovered that she could indeed hang up her boots if she continues working at her current pace, and said that while it “would be great,” she also feels a sense of duty towards her family. She said: “I am the breadwinner of my family, so being the older sibling, and being the one in this career, I pay everyone’s bills and I give everybody money, so it’s quite a big responsibility.”
And despite her continued TV success, Maya isn’t looking to slow down yet, harbouring ambitions of becoming an actress. She told the Mirror: “I’ve been having a couple of screen tests and auditions. My dream role would be to play a villain or something not like me that shows I can act. Something like a villain with no teeth that crawls on the floor. So people could be like, ‘Wow it’s like two people!’ I would never say no to EastEnders, it’s an iconic show. But I don’t watch much normal telly now, it’s just Love Island – oh, and The Masked Singer!”
