Jesy Nelson is being sought after to take part in a new reality show all about her pregnancy and impending motherhood.
The 33-year-old former Little Mix star stunned her fans this week when she revealed she is expecting twins with her 25-year-old boyfriend Zion Foster. She broke the news with a playful Instagram post on Sunday – posing with Zion standing behind her with a protective hand over her exposed baby bump.
She captioned the image, writing: “She’s eating for 3 now” alongside two baby face emojis. And while it appears the star is keen to document her pregnancy herself via social media posts, reports have emerged to suggest the Secret Love Song singer could be followed by full-scale camera crews to chronicle her countdown to motherhood.
It has been noted that Jesy recently signed with talent agency Off Limits – who look after a number of reality stars including former Love Island contestant Tasha Ghouri and former The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Edgar. And since Jesy’s music career has stalled, insiders think she could be poised to sign a deal with ITV.
A source told The Sun: “Jesy is the perfect fit for an ITVBE style reality show which would watch her becoming a first time mum. There is a gap in the market now Ferne McCann has stepped back from her fly-on-the-wall series and Jesy would be an incredible person to sign up.”
It has been suggested that Jesy could embark on a successful new career as a reality star after production company bosses failed to secure a soap actress to document her pregnancy. The source claimed: “The production company who made the show were targeting Michelle Keegan but it’s likely they’ll never get that off the ground.
“Jesy’s surprise news has turned their heads and they think she would be a perfect fit. She also has a younger audience appeal and has so many fans who have stuck by her since her Little Mix days.” The Mirror has contacted a representative of the singer for comment.
Jesy’s pregnancy announcement at the weekend was warmly received by fans who rushed to congratulate her on her news. One fan wrote: “Ah baby girl I’m so happy for you, what a wonderful mom your going to be.” Another typed: “The smile i have on my face right now … I am so so happy for you. you deserve the world. congratulations beautiful girl.”
And a further fan wrote: “So so so happy for u. Dreams do come true.” Others were intrigued by Jesy’s announcement wording – picking up on the fact she stated she is eating for three. One wrote: “Does this mean twins? Eating for 3???” While another typed: “Yes! Looks like it for sure.” And another laughed: “why would she be eating for him lol”.
During a past chat with Glamour magazine, Jesy shared her thoughts on parenting – revealing that she was not sure if she would take the plunge in the future. She told the magazine: “It’s just not in me. I think as a woman, [motherhood is] either in you or it isn’t.”
She said: “You either have that maternal feeling or you don’t, and I’ve never had that feeling. I think women have to do what is right for them.” She also revealed that she had not at that time met either Leigh-Anne or Perrie’s babies – as both Little Mix singers had started their families in 2021.
