TV presenter Holly Willoughby has landed a victory in a home extension dispute, scoring approval to add a gym and cinema room to her lavish £8million property.
The 43 year old Dancing On Ice host got the nod to enhance her new South East residence with these luxury features, where she lives with spouse Dan Baldwin, aged 50, and their three children.
Last November, it was reported the presenter had grand designs to overhaul her plush new digs after moving out of a £3 million London property. Holly up sticks from herr previous capital city sanctuary to a more opulent and secured homestead.
Acquiring the six-bedroom property in July, as reported by The Sun, Holly and her husband Dan Baldwin are reported to have purchased the pad outright with cash, as verified by Land Registry documents which showed no charges from financial institutions. As per recent planning files, the TV favourite expressed wishes to construct an annex linked to the main house.
However, a minor hiccup occurred when Holly had to seek planning approval to expand the six-bedroom mansion. According to MailOnline, their original plans required some modification after being adjudged incompatible with the site’s “heritage”.
Subsequent amendments, which scaled back the proposed outbuilding to a single storey instead of two, have since secured the green light from the authorities for Holly, who typically maintains privacy regarding her family life – even obscuring her children’s faces online.
Like her children, Holly has also kept her home and home life incredibly private. However, in 2023, she offered a rare peek into her plush London pad while tidying the kitchen.
The TV presenter also showcased her spacious open-plan dining area and enormous bedroom, which featured an impressive bed with a chic nude headboard. Initially, it was believed that Holly and her husband Dan were planning to move to the countryside.
But it was later revealed the couple have chosen to remain in the South East. A source claimed: “It’s a fresh start after a challenging year and an opportunity to put all memories of the nightmare behind her. The house is currently undergoing building work so it will be like new and perfect for their needs.”
Holly quit ITV‘s This Morning in October 2023 and stepped away from the spotlight. Besides Dancing On Ice, which started last weekend, Holly will return to our screens this year as the host of Netflix competition show Celebrity Bear Hunt, featuring Bear Grylls. In addition to her television commitments, Holly manages lifestyle company Wylde Moon, while her husband Dan has a profitable BBC deal to produce the revamped Gladiators.
