Coronation Street Brie’s real identity ‘revealed’ as she targets Lauren

-

Newcomer Brie could be hiding something huge on Coronation Street according to fans.

Viewers saw the prison inmate causing drama for Lauren Bolton on the ITV soap on Wednesday, and they were sure she was up to no good. With Lauren facing trial over the murder of Joel Deering, her fate is yet to be confirmed.

Lauren has been in the mother and baby unit in the prison for weeks with baby son Frankie. On Wednesday we saw her introduced to fellow new mum and inmate Brie, who sat with Lauren in a room.

But things took an awkward turned when she began taunting a stressed Lauren about Joel and what she was in prison for. Lauren was taken aback as Brie kept on goading her. After the scenes on Wednesday, fans were sure they knew who Brie was and what she was really up to.

Taking to X, fans suggested she might be hiding something “dark” as others wondered if she was linked to Lauren. One fan said: “Something tells me there is more to her than we see. Is she dark?”

Another fan said: “Why is that Brie lass being so mean to Lauren though? Is this gonna lead to something big?” as a third wrote: “This was a weird interaction.” Other fans questioned if she was hiding her identity, and was somehow linked to Lauren’s past.

A further theory read: “I wonder if she’s an informer?” as another said she was “up to something”. It comes as Lauren’s onscreen boyfriend Max Turner is set to leave the ITV soap, with actor Paddy Bever quitting the role. The star has already filmed his final scenes and will depart from the screen in early spring.

Bosses have known that he would bow out since March last year, allowing them time to develop his exit storyline which comes amid huge turmoil for the Platt family in the coming weeks. He told The Mirror: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities.

“I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way. It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”

Paddy told bosses 10 months ago that he would leave at the end of his current contract. One source said: “He finished filming at the end of 2024 and will exit as part of a huge upcoming storyline for the Platt family. Everyone at Corrie loves Paddy and we wish him every success for the future.

“This is not a surprise or a shock and is all part of the ebb and flow of characters from the show. We have many new characters joining in the coming weeks and months – and also some returning characters.”
