Melania Trump takes swipe at Michelle and Barack Obama as she reveals their savage move

-

Melania Trump, 54, made a subtle dig at the Obamas as she revealed their lack of hospitality during her husband’s first term in the White House.

Melania and Donald Trump, 78, are set to move back into the Washington DC home this month, taking over from Jill and Joe Biden. During Trump’s first term in 2017, he took over the house from Michelle, 60, and Barack Obama, 63. Former model Melania opened up about her plans to move back into the White House, and slyly hinted that the Obamas didn’t make the move easy the first time around.

“What is it like when you’re moving back in the White House? What’s different this time?” host Ainsley Earhardt asked during a Fox News interview.

“The difference is I know where I will be going, I know the rooms where we will be living. I know the process,” Melania shared. She then added: “The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information. The information was withheld for us from the previous administration.”

In contrast, Melania suggested that the Bidens were easing her path: “This time, I have everything. I have the plans, I could move in. I already packed, I already selected the furniture that needs to go in. So it’s a very different transition this time, second time around.”

However, she sidestepped a question asking directly about her relations with the outgoing President and his wife. Earhardt asked: “How have the Bidens been? Have they been accommodating and are they still living there?”

Instead of answering the question, Melania cryptically just said: “They’re still living there and they will be out on January 20. So what happens on January 20, the transition team has only five hours to move the Bidens out and to move us in. So everything needs to be planned to the minute.”

Melania’s swipe at the Obamas comes after Michelle failed to attend former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week, being on an “extended holiday vacation” in Hawaii. Former Presidents Trump, Obama, Bush and Clinton and their spouses all attended, with Michelle the only absentee.

Michelle seems to be making her feelings towards convicted felon Trump clear, and has also decided to snub Trump’s inauguration. “She’s never been fake and she’s never been phony,” a source told Page Six, explaining Michelle’s decision not to cosy up to the Trumps.

“She’s always been very deliberate about where and how she shows up. She showed up reluctantly for the election. They were united, but she doesn’t have to unify around [Trump]. She doesn’t have to say anything. Her absence speaks volumes.”

The Obamas firmly sided with fellow Democrat Kamala Harris during the last election, and released a statement after Trump’s win accepting the result but confirming they weren’t over the moon with getting the felon back in office.

“Over the last few weeks and through Election Day, millions of Americans cast their votes – not just for president, but for leaders at every level. Now the results are in, and we want to congratulate President Trump and Senator Vance on their victory,” they stated.

“This is obviously not the outcome we had hoped for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues. But living in a democracy is about recognizing that our point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power.

“Michelle and I could not be prouder of Vice President Harris and Governor Walz – two extraordinary public servants who ran a remarkable campaign. And we will always be grateful to the staff and volunteers who poured their heart and soul into electing public servants they truly believed in.”
