A man opened up about the “blunder” he made when he met Linda Nolan back in the 1990s.
On Wednesday, January 15 it was confirmed the TV personality and pop star died aged 65 after a long journey with secondary breast cancer. Her final hours were said to have been full of “love and comfort.”
After the news of her passing broke, many people opened up to share their personal experiences of working with the singer. One of them was Terry Geo, and his story has touched the hearts of many.
He posted a TikTok video explaining just how “lovely” she was when he met her a few times over the years. Linda was even kind to him when he made a pretty big blunder.
In the video clip, Terry said: “I’ve just learnt that Linda Nolan has died at the age of 65 and, it’s upset me, because I worked with her way back when and she was lovely.
“In 1995, the first ever TV show I worked on was a show called Year of the Pier, and we went all around the UK to different piers and, when we got to Blackpool, the person we interviewed there was Linda Nolan.
“She was just so lovely, and such a nice person. We spent a good half day with her – just chatting about her life and just everything in general.
“Fast forward a year later, and I got press tickets to see Lily Savage in Prisoner Cell Block H the musical, in Sheffield, and Linda Nolan was in that show. I went backstage afterwards and I was only 17, and I wasn’t really used to drinking alcohol.
“I saw Linda Nolan, she was standing in the corner at the other end of the bar, and I rushed over and went ‘Linda’ with a full glass of white wine, which I then proceeded to spill all over her blouse. I was so mortifyingly embarassed.”
But, despite the awkward moment, Terry admitted she was “lovely” and told him not to worry about it at all. She simply got a towel to wipe it down, and carried on as normal.
Linda also told Terry she remembered him from when they worked together before, and he confessed she was just a “really nice” person. He also met her again later down the line when he was auditioning for a part in Hollyoaks, as she was auditioning for a role too.
He admitted the news of her passing has made him really sad as she truly was a “wonderful person”. Terry also sent “love and hugs” to her family.
His story has struck a chord with many online, as fans also shared their memories of listening to The Nolans’ music. Many have been left heartbroken by the news.
One person said: “I loved The Nolans in the 70s/80s. Brings back great memories. RIP Linda.”
Another wrote: “You are 100% right. I met her in Blackpool years ago. She was very nice to me.”
A third also replied: “When she was in Maggie May I took her to work many a night in my taxi. Her husband was always with her. Always chatty. Lovely lady.”
