Love Island: All Stars competitors Catherine Agbaje, 24, and Luca Bish, 25, have been accused of having bad blood.
The ITV show kicked off this evening, and after the islanders were introduced, host Maya Jama set them up to play a game as an ice breaker. As the guys stood in front of them, the girls took it in turns to go up and give them a red flag to represent something they knew about the man that didn’t seem right.
Catherine immediately went to Luca, which some of the other islanders seemed confused by. “Me?” asked Luca, with Catherine responding: “Yes, you.” She laughed, and then explained: “Only because you said you’ve only been on two dates in like, years.”
“Okay,” Luca said as he frowned, with Catherine adding: “Yeah, so you’ve been outside and not dating.” Luca reasoned: “Just haven’t been with a lot of people. Doesn’t mean I’m shagging every week.” Catherine responded: “Didn’t say that, either.” Luca frowned again, before saying: “I mean outside, inside, it is what it is.”
As Catherine turned away and began to walk back to the others, Scott Thomas, 36, voiced his belief that there was something deeper beneath the awkward interaction. “These two have got secret beef, I don’t know what it is,” he said. “We do not have beef!” Catherine insisted, with Luca echoing her.
Scott wasn’t the only one to notice the tense moment, with many fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that they sensed something strange between the duo. “Wait what is the beef with Catherine and Luca that was so weird,” said one, with a second agreeing: “The vibe between Luca and Catherine is mad weird.” A third added: “Catherine and Luca what just happened? That was awkward.” Yet another viewer shared: “Yikes the tension between Catherine and Luca.”
While fans and fellow islanders sensed no love lost between Catherine and Luca, however, they picked up better vibes from her and a different co-star. She got chatting to Curtis Pritchard, 28, soon after entering the villa, and viewers predicted their instant chemistry could see them branded the winners of the whole show.
Maya admitted she felt like she was interrupting them when she headed in their direction, and even joked Curtis was ticking some boxes for Catherine, as they shared their love of Ireland – with Curtis’ ex Maura Higgins coming from Ireland just like Catherine.
As the pair joked around and got to know each other, Maya left them to it. But viewers watching at home believed there could be something to it and perhaps the pair had a chance. “Catherine and Curtis already giving winners before anyone else is in there,” one person wrote on X.
Another agreed: “Not they leaked the winners like this???” as a third viewer said: “My winners walked in together btw.” A fourth fan posted: “Wait, Curtis and Catherine?”
