‘Genius’ 10p a day hack to keep you toasty at home without heating on

-

A TikTok user has revealed his go-to hack for keeping their home ‘toasty’ without needing to turn the heating on, and it’s totally genius.

While the weather hasn’t been too cold this winter, many of us are still feeling the full force of increasing energy prices. Millions of Brits are scared to turn on their heating, even when temperatures dip, and with sky high energy prices it’s easy to see why.

But the good news is that there are lots of little ways you can make staying warm at home this winter easier. A TikTok user, who goes by ‘@ndainternet’ online, took to TikTok to share a new video about how he keeps warm in the colder winter months, without needing to crank up his heating.

In the now-viral video, the TikToker asked his followers if they realised what the cost is of using an electric blanket, rather than the heating. He said: “Did you know that keeping an electric blanket on for four hours a day costs less than 10p?

“That’s 70p per week and £3 per month. Literally so much cheaper to run than putting the heating on trying to heat up an entire room.” The TikTok user also adds how he finds that using an electric blanket ‘will keep you warm and cosy’ all winter long.

People were quick to comment on the video, with one person sharing that they find a normal blanket and hot water bottle works just as well to keep them cosy in the colder weather. While some people thought the hack was a good idea, others were concerned about fire safety and whether his home would become damp by not turning his heating on during the colder months.
