It’s the time of the year when everyone is in the gym, trying to fulfil their New Year’s resolution of getting fitter.
This often means that, if you’re a regular gym-goer, you’ll be seeing a lot of new faces, and the machines may be busier than usual, and you’ll likely have to scramble for a shower to use after you’ve become hot and sweaty.
The likelihood is, though, that this hype will die down. But before it has, one woman was left mortified at another gym-goers behaviour in the changing rooms. Apparently, she did something unforgivable “for ten minutes”.
The woman titled her Mumsnet post: “This is grim, yes?” Then, she added: “Woman was sat butt naked on vinyl type benches while she rubbed body lotion in for about 10 mins.”
She explained that the woman had her “bare a**e and foof all over furniture that others are using,” and the original poster was horrified by the behaviour. “Put some knickers on for f***s sake, I don’t care if you’re naked, but please don’t rub your lady bits all over the furniture,” she raged.
In the comments, some defended the woman, saying that if the woman was fresh out of the shower, it was probably more hygienic than if someone else sat there.
One wrote: “When you think of what gyms are used for and all the people who come in to use them for that purpose, it’s probably best just to let somebody fresh out of the shower but without underwear sitting on a bench slide, to be honest. It’s probably more hygienic than somebody sitting in sweat-soaked leggings straight from their workout.”
Others weren’t impressed, though, with someone fuming: “Yes, that is the grimiest of grim. For f***’s sake, sit on a towel at least!”
Someone even shared her own similar experience, penning: “There was a woman like this at my gym – she’d always spend ages naked, rubbing lotions into her skin. Then, one day, my friend was in the sauna, and this woman came in starkers, lay down on the same bench and drew her legs up like a roast chicken. You can imagine the view my friend got!”
Another added: “I always remember when I was a teenager a lady using the hairdryer to dry her bits in the gym changing rooms, I was scarred for life.”
A Mumsnet user pointed out that it was grimmer for the naked woman, saying: “Grim for her, people put their dirty trainers on there to tie laces. Or verrucas, athletes’ footed manky feet. Backpacks that have been on bus floors. Last place I’d want my freshly washed (or otherwise) foof.”
Someone asked her whether she’d approached the woman and asked her to stop, and the original poster said: “She was 70+. I’m hardly going to approach her and say, please take your f***y off the bench.”
