Australia’s batsman, Travis Head, has been allowed to leave the T20I squad facing India in order to focus on playing red-ball cricket in the Sheffield Shield to prepare for the upcoming Ashes series. In the recent T20 matches, Head contributed 28 runs in a win in Melbourne but struggled with only six runs in the last T20 game in Hobart, where Australia lost by five wickets. Cricket Australia announced that Head will participate in South Australia’s Shield match against Tasmania next week. The first Ashes test is scheduled to commence in Perth on November 21. The current T20 series between Australia and India is tied at 1-1, with the next match set to take place on the Gold Coast. The opening match in Canberra was canceled due to rain.
