Tommy Fury makes pledge to daughter Bambi after admitting drinking problem

-

Tommy Fury has made a telling vow for his daughter Bambi after admitting he has been dealing with an alcohol addiction.

The boxer, 25, who split from fiancee Molly-Mae Hague last August, has candidly revealed the struggles he has been facing in his personal life following an injury. He admitted he is not looking for sympathy as he opened up on his tough 2024. However, while he says people will “hate” him no matter what he does, the only people that matter are his family.

“As long as my family loves me,” he confessed. “I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter.”

He revealed he will be back in the boxing ring soon and is ready to kick on with his career. “I’ve wasted a year already in my life and I’m ready to pick back up and have a great 2025,” he vowed in an interview with Men’s Health.

Despite opening up on his drinking issues, Tommy said he made sure it wasn’t going to affect his role as a father. “Being a father, I didn’t care how bad I felt in the morning or how rough I was, I’d be up at quarter past seven, waking the baby up, giving her a breakfast, making her breakfast, taking her to soft play, taking her to swimming, taking her to baby ballet,” he added.

“It was still very important for me while I was going through this stage to be like, ‘okay, I want everything to be the same in her life’.”

He admitted he was intent on keeping a routine for Bambi and explained that it was this action that kept people in the dark with his drinking addiction.

However, Tommy did confess it was this drinking issue that was the reason behind his and Molly-Mae’s split after five years together. The duo, who met on Love Island in 2019, stunned their fans with their announcement in August last year. Rumours quickly spread that Tommy might have been unfaithful. He was quick to deny the claims and has further rebuffed the allegations in his latest interview.

He called all allegations “utter b*****ks”. He hit out at those spreading the false news and said: “Cheating was never a thing,” before blaming it on his addiction to drink.

Tommy’s candid confessions come as Molly-Mae gets ready to release her Molly-Mae’s Behind It All documentary. The six-part series is still being filmed, with speculation rife the latter episodes will touch on a possible reconnection between the pair.

They locked lips at a New Year’s Eve party hosted by Manchester United star Luke Shaw. Tommy is later said to have stayed the night at Molly-Mae’s following a cosy cinema date.
