Tesco Clubcard baffles mum who bought unusual item every two weeks

-

A parent has been left stunned over the repeated purchase of one product which was uncovered in her Tesco Clubcard app. The mum revealed that she was buying a hygiene product multiple times a month. She explained that she visits Tesco to buy food, but also finds herself in the toothpaste aisle frequently.

The confused mum said she decided to check out the supermarket’s app and found that she is always buying new toothbrushes for her toddler, but perhaps a little too regularly. The mum, took to the Reddit sub-group, Beyond The Bump UK, to share that a large part of her expenses is taken up by one product. She shared: “Our Tesco Clubcard Unpacked 2024, apparently our toddler goes through one toothbrush every two weeks.”

Another parent responded to the post and said they understand how this can happen. “Easily believe it! Madness how much they chew them,” they said. The shocking round-up showed that her child goes through a whopping 24 toothbrushes per year. The major supermarket chain explains what the round-up is. On its website, it says: “Your video is ready to spill the beans on how you shopped in 2024. Watch yours now and if you dare to share, post your best bits with #ClubcardUnpacked.”

The 2024 has been a massive hit with shoppers who have uncovered some spending habits they may not have realised. The app tots up exactly what you’ve bought and when, tallying up a final number at the end of the year for shoppers to look back on.

Whilst the specific number can vary from baby to baby, most dentists would recommend throwing a baby’s toothbrush away every three to four months. According to the NHS website, parents should start to brush their baby’s teeth as soon as they appear. It states: “You can start brushing your baby’s teeth as soon as they start to come through. Use a baby toothbrush with a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste. Don’t worry if you don’t manage to brush much at first. The important thing is to get your baby used to brushing their teeth as part of their daily routine. You can help by setting a good example and letting them see you brushing your own teeth.”
