Strictly Come Dancing star Tasha Ghouri was adamant nothing would get in the way of her relationship with Andrew Le Page, but it seems she might have spoken too soon.
The BBC dancing show has long been blamed for throwing glittery grenades into contestants’ seemingly happy relationships. resulting in breakups, kissing scandals and steamy new romances. However, as she prepared to step into the famous ballroom, Tasha apparently had no fears about the intense competition tearing her and Andrew, 29, apart.
But now the once-besotted Love Island couple, who first locked eyes in the villa in 2022, have parted ways, a matter of months after 26-year-old Tasha issued a defiant, pre-Strictly statement…
In an interview with The Sun back in September, Tasha declared that the so-called Strictly curse couldn’t touch her, as she was already with the “hottest man on the planet”. Tasha, who is set to head out on the UK tour this week, insisted: “Andrew, to me, is the hottest man on this whole planet. I look at him, and I’m like: ‘Yeah, that’s my man!’ Me and Andrew trust each other 100 per cent.
“It’s not a make-or-break for us. We’re going to breeze through this because we’re going to marry each other one day, you know? It doesn’t bother us at all. We didn’t have a discussion about ‘the Strictly curse’ because we trust each other.”
During the same interview, Tasha was quizzed about Andrew’s thoughts on her being paired with the so-called ‘bad boy’ of Strictly, Aljaz Skorjanec. And she hit back, reassuring fans that Andrew didn’t have any qualms with the pairing. Confident Tasha shared: “He has no worries at all. If anything, he was super-happy and could see the great partnership we had. He came to rehearsals the other day and watched for a little bit.
“Aljaz taught Andrew some dance moves, which was funny. Aljaz is so happy with his wife [Janette Manrara] and we went on a double date last night, and had a lovely dinner with their beautiful daughter, Lyra. Andrew’s been so supportive through it all.”
Meanwhile, only last month, Tasha appeared optimistic about her future with Andrew, when discussing whether a proposal could be on the cards. Tasha told OK!: “That’s a question for Andrew! But of course, there is no one else for me and Andrew is who I want to spend the rest of my life with.” When quizzed as to whether or not Andrew was ‘The One’, Tasha quipped: “Absolutely. I wouldn’t be with him otherwise. I’m so lucky to have such an amazing boyfriend.”
After she and Andrew quietly called time on their three-year relationship earlier this month, Tasha reportedly set up a profile on a celeb-favoured dating app Raya, complete with photos shared on Instagram in December. Tasha’s profile is said to describe her as a “Northern girly” who is “always smiling and laughing.”
A source has now claimed that Tasha’s stint on Strictly took a toll on the couple, and ultimately “drove a wedge between them”. Speaking with The Sun, they said: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew, but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly.”
They added: “She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz, and that drove a wedge between them as time went by. Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”
