Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) celebrated the Victory Day and Martyred Intellectuals Day in a grand manner this year. BSA hosted a three-day-long program, from December 14-16, at Shilpakala Academy’s National Theatre Auditorium in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
Prominent cultural personality and journalist Kamal Lohani presided over the memorial ceremony held on Saturday evening (December 15). BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, composer and instrumentalist Jahangir Hayat Khan, vocalists Kalyani Ghosh, Rafiqul Alam and Anup Bhattacharya were also present at the event.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy also organized the exhibition titled Sheikh Hasina: Bangladesh’er Swapnasarathi, started from September 27, which featured artwork and photographs of various stages of the life of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The closing ceremony of the exhibition was organized on Sunday evening at the National Gallery of the academy.
Minister of Housing and Public Works Rezaul Karim MP was the chief guest on the occasion. BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky presided over the event while Netrokona-3 MP Asim Kumar Ukil, ITI Biswa Kendra Honorary President Ramendu Majumdar were also present at the event.
BSA also organized poetry recitation session, art camp and a musical soiree at Savar’s National Memorial on the evening of Victory Day.
The academy also hosted a cultural program on the occasion of Nabanna Utsab, the Bangali harvest celebration usually celebrated with food and dance and music in Bangladesh, on Sunday (Agrahayon 30, 1426) afternoon at the Sohrawardi Uddan in Dhaka.
