A high school teacher has been shot to death over previous enmity centring Union Parishad (UP) elections in Pangsa upazila of Rajbari district.
The incident took place in Subarnakola village in the upazila around 6:30 am on Friday.
The deceased Asadul Bari Khan, 42, an assistant teacher of Sengram High School in Khoksha upazila of Kushtia district, was the son of late Khorshed Khan from Pangsa upazila, said Pangsa police station Officer-in-Charge(OC) Ahsan Ullah.
Ahsan Ullah said: ” On being informed, we reached the scene and are trying to arrest those involved in the killing.”
Asadul was returning home after visiting his ailing uncle Khalilur Rahman. At one point, some miscreants shot Asadul to death and dumped his body in the Gorai river. He might have been killed over previous enmity centring last year’s Union Parishad (UP) elections, said Saddam Khan, nephew of the deceased.
