She said this while addressing a program at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre marking the 52nd birthday of Sheikh Russel, the younger son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, on Sunday.
The PM said that she cannot describe how painful it was the survival after the loss of her dear ones. Assassins’ bullets took Russel’s life on the dark night of August in 1975.
“Today, Russel could be 51 years old. Now, I think, if Russel was alive how to see him. I see Russel’s image in the eyes of the children,” the premier said with a saddened voice.
“As none of children has to face the fate of Russel, which he faced in 1975, we all have to build the country as a secured place for children,” she added.
