South Indian film industry is abuzz with the success of Power star Pawan Kalyan’s latest action-packed movie, “They Call Him OG,” which has made a significant impact at the box office. In just two days since its release, the film has amassed an impressive worldwide gross of Rs 154 crore, surpassing the highly awaited “Pushpa 2: The Rule” in terms of initial earnings.
Directed by Sujeeth, “They Call Him OG” achieved a remarkable feat by joining the Rs 100 crore club within the first 48 hours of its release, marking the fastest milestone in Pawan Kalyan’s illustrious career. The movie raked in Rs 21 crore from premiere shows on Wednesday, followed by an impressive Rs 63.75 crore on Thursday. Friday’s collections stood at Rs 19.25 crore, bringing the total earnings in India to Rs 104 crore. Additionally, overseas markets contributed Rs 54 crore to the global box office tally of Rs 154 crore.
The storyline of the film revolves around the ascent of gangster Ojas Gambheera, portrayed with Pawan Kalyan’s commanding on-screen presence. Bollywood sensation Emraan Hashmi marks his Telugu debut with a menacing portrayal of gangster Omi Bhau, while actress Priyanka Mohan plays a pivotal character in the movie.
“They Call Him OG” was shot in various South Indian languages and has also been released in Hindi, broadening its audience base across the nation.
