New Zealand’s cricket team announced their squad for the upcoming Twenty20 series against West Indies, including Kyle Jamieson who is returning from a side injury that kept him out of the ODI series against England. However, fast bowler Matt Henry will be rested for the series.
Spinner Ish Sodhi is also back in the squad for the five-match series set to kick off in Auckland this Wednesday. This series will give coach Rob Walter a final opportunity to assess his team before finalizing a provisional squad for the upcoming World Cup in India.
Henry, who missed the England series due to a calf injury, will be taking a break as part of a planned conditioning program to ensure his fitness for the upcoming ODI and test series against the visiting team. Earlier on Sunday, former captain Kane Williamson announced his retirement from the format.
The squad for the series includes Mitchell Santner as captain, along with Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Robinson, Tim Seifert, Nathan Smith, and Ish Sodhi.
