Mum in desperate plea to find daughter, 14, missing overnight

A 14-year-old girl who went missing after claiming recently she was “followed by someone in a car” has been found after an urgent appeal to find her on Facebook.

Paris Shamin Chowdhury wrote on a Westbury Facebook page that her daughter Aaryana had not been seen since 9.30pm last night in Frome, Somerset. She described her as being “very vulnerable”.

She stated: “My daughter, Aaryana, is missing. She is 14 years old and did not come home yesterday. She was last seen around 9:30 PM near Cheese and Grain in Frome.

“Aaryana is Bangladeshi/Indian and very vulnerable, especially as she has had a difficult year. I’m deeply concerned for her safety, particularly after she mentioned recently that she and her friends were followed by someone in a car trying to offer them vapes.”

In the appeal it was revealed that Aaryana was wearing a beige top, black jacket, black joggers and beige Ugg boots. Her mum said that Aaryana doesn’t have family in Froome where she would be able to go and appealed for people to come forward with information. She also added that as well as being seen near the Cheese and Grain, she was reportedly spotted also on Woodland Road.

“She was also spotted around Woodland Road. We don’t have any family in Frome, so I’m incredibly worried as there isn’t anywhere else she might go. If anyone has seen her or has any information, please come forward as soon as possible. Thank you for your help,” she stated. A woman sharing the appeal on Facebook wrote: “This beautiful girl from Frome is missing. Her mum is going out of her mind. Police are searching. All her trackers are turned off. Just reposting in case the picture jogs anyone’s memory from the last few hours.”

But Somerset and Avon Police have now confirmed to The Mirror that the girl has been found “safe and well” this afternoon “and her family have been informed”.

Hundreds of people responded to the appeal after it was posted on Spotted Westbury to share what has happened and also offer sympathy. “I hope and pray she is home safe and sound soon,” wrote one person, and another said: “Really hope she is safe and comes home soon.” There were many similar messages with a person commenting: “What a terrible worry for you. I hope she’s home safe and sound soon.”

The appeal has also been posted to other social media groups and members have offered to set up a search for the girl. One person on a Facebook group in Frome said: “I live at woodland road area I will share and keep a look out hope she’s comes home well and safe.” Another wrote: “I’ve shared Yeovil, Bruton, Castle Cary, Weymouth just in case as trains run this way. Hope your beautiful young lady is found safe and well real soon xx.” The Mirror has contacted Avon and Somerset Police for comment.
