Police found the bodies of a woman and her two children in Shajahanpur upazila, Bogura today. The bodies were discovered in their residence in Khalisakandi village. The woman was found hanging from the ceiling, while her children were found with their throats slit on a bed, as stated by Shafiqul Islam, the officer-in-charge of Shajahanpur Police Station.
The deceased were identified as Sadia Akter, aged 25, the wife of Md Shahadat Hossain, along with their two children, four-year-old Saifa and two-year-old Saif. Sadia’s in-laws mentioned that they received no response from her despite attempting to contact her multiple times in the morning. Subsequently, they forced open the door to her room and discovered the bodies. The police were informed and arrived at the scene around noon to retrieve the bodies.
The bodies have been transferred to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for further examination. Shahadat, the husband, who is a member of the armed forces and was on leave, has been apprehended for interrogation. Reportedly, he slept in a different room last night following an argument with his wife. He alleged that his wife took her life after harming their children, according to the OC.
