Mosaddek hits record 3 double centuries


Mosaddek HossainDaily Dhaka Times: Mosaddek Hossain on Sunday scored a fabulous unbeaten double century, making a record of hitting three double centuries in Bangladesh 1st class cricket this season.

His double ecntury helped his team Barisal division to declared the 1st innings at 527 for 9 against Sylhet Division in the second day’s play of the 17th National Cricket League 2nd round match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

In reply, Sylhet Division ended the day posting 112 on the board without losing a wicket trailing by 415 runs.

Mosaddek Hossain’s unbeaten 200 runs off 245 balls involved 15 boundaries and seven sixes.

The 19-year-old from Mymensingh has become the first player to score three double centuries in the 1st class cricket in a season.

He has hit six centuries including three double centuries and two fifties in his last 12 innings. Apart from Sunday’s double ton, Mosaddek scored 250 against Rangpur and 282 against Chittagong earlier.

Five other batsmen have more than one (two) double centuries in the domestic matches. They are Alok Kapali, Marshall Ayub, Rony Talukdar and Nazimuddin.

Mosaddek’s scores in the last 12 innings are 200*, 122, 40, 19, 119, 153, 8, 72, 32, 88, 282 and 250.
