Morrisons launches new online service across supermarket stores in England

-

Morrisons will be launching an online pharmacy prescription service for customers in England.

Launched in partnership with online pharmacy prescription delivery provider Phlo, the supermarket’s service allows customers to access private medication “quickly, discretely and safely” without a GP appointment. If prescribed, the medication will then be delivered straight to the customer’s door.

The supermarket chain says health and lifestyle conditions which can be treated through the clinic include things such as acid reflux, acne, daily contraceptives, emergency contraceptives, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, hay fever, menopause, migraine, period delay, premature ejaculation, and weight loss.

To access the service, customers must first complete a detailed online questionnaire that assesses their suitability for each medication they request. A team of healthcare professionals at online pharmacy Phlo will then monitor all requests and conduct a comprehensive review before approving any request. Once it has been approved, the prescription will be dispensed and sent directly to the customer via Royal Mail Tracked 24.

Currently, the service is only available to Morrisons customers in England. The supermarket chain has not confirmed whether the service will be rolled out to its Scottish and Welsh stores. Those wanting to use it can visit the website clinic.morrisons.com, which can also be accessed through Morrisons’ official website. Morrisons says the on-demand pharmacy service is the latest to be added to its in-store offering, which includes dry cleaning, photo processing, “Rug Doctor,” and Timpson’s key cutting.

Morrisons head of services John Parry said: “We know how frustrating it can be waiting to see your GP for an appointment, so we’re delighted to be launching the Morrisons Clinic. Our customers will now be able to order medication for a number of different health and lifestyle conditions quickly and conveniently, all at competitive prices.”
