Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the council session

The Awami Matsyajibi League has attained the status of an associate organization of Bangladesh Awami League.

To this end, the amendment proposal of Section 25 of the party constitution was approved during the council session of the party’s 21st National Council on Saturday, at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in Dhaka.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the council session.

Matsyajibi League previously did not have any direct link with the Awami League.It held its council and formed a committee on November 29, getting approval from the party.

Meanwhile, during the council session on Saturday, the number of advisory council members was raised to 51 from the existing 41.

Awami Ainjibi Parishad was rebranded as Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad.

The post of assistant secretary of the party’s central sub-committee has been dissolved, and a new post named central sub-committee member has been created. Each sub-committee will have five members.

The amendments to the relevant sections of the Awami League constitution and declaration was approved through voice vote by councillors.

The 21st National Council of the ruling party began on Friday at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka. Around 7,500 councillors from around Bangladesh attended the two-day council.
