A significant fire erupted at a cotton storage facility in the Millgate area of Tongi, Gazipur, earlier today. Upon receiving the alert, seven firefighting units from Tongi, Uttara, and Gazipur swiftly responded to the scene and are currently engaged in combating the inferno.
Firefighter Ariful Islam, representing the Tongi fire service, stated, “Our utmost priority is to contain the fire. Senior officials are on-site coordinating the firefighting efforts.” Local residents observed smoke and flames billowing from the warehouse before the arrival of the fire service teams who promptly initiated suppression operations.
At the time of this report, the fire remains uncontained, and there have been no reported casualties, as confirmed by fire service authorities.
