Liverpool sent double transfer message as ‘brilliant’ Premier League duo eyed
Former Liverpool star Dietmar Hamann has named two current Premier League players he believes the Reds should try and sign, branding the pair “brilliant” talents
Liverpool have been urged to sign two Premier League stars by former Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann.
Hamann, who spent seven seasons at Liverpool and helped them win the Champions League, believes Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez would be “brilliant” additions to Arne Slot’s squad.
Liverpool currently sit eight points clear at the top of the league, but could be set for a major squad overhaul with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all coming to the end of their contracts and yet to agree extensions.
And Hamann feels Duran and Kerkez are two players who could thrive at Anfield. “Could Liverpool move for Harry Kane? To be honest, he seems happy at Bayern Munich and I don’t think Munich want to sell him either,” Hamann told BoyleSports, who offer the latest Liverpool vs Man Utd odds.
“I don’t think that will happen and Liverpool have never been the biggest spenders, so it’s unlikely. However, Jhon Duran is a brilliant player and the way he plays, it always helps having a player with a physical presence up front.
“He created space up front and made a huge impact for Villa – I certainly think Liverpool need to keep an eye on him.” Liverpool have been linked with a move for Kerkez and Hamann believes he would be an excellent signing, comparing the 21-year-old to former Reds star John Arne Riise.
“Milos Kerkez is a brilliant player,” Hamann added. “We see it time and time again in the Premier League. If you play well, you will gain a lot of interest. Andy Robertson is in his late 20s and Kostas Tsimikas is a great back up – but he has wanted to leave for the past two seasons now.

“It’s a position Liverpool should definitely look at. Robertson is a great player who is having a dip at the moment. If there is a player with the level of Kerkez or Alphonso Davies, why not go for it. Kerkez reminds me of John Arne Riise a lot.
“Riise liked to bomb forward and was a very attacking left back. He had a great strike on him. It’s a bonus if you have a fullback who defends very well and is able to score, set goals up and cross a few balls in. It makes the game a lot easier.”
