James Haskell is moving on with his life following his marriage breakdown from Chloe Madeley.
The former England rugby union star is reportedly dating advertising executive Helen Barclay, 34. Their pairing is said to have become more serious in recent months after the duo first connected over a year ago.
It’s claimed the new couple have been enjoying an increasing number of dates with each other, and also spent a lot of time at each other’s houses. James and Helen were spotted at Knightsbridge restaurant Clap as they enjoyed a romantic date night. James has also been spotted commenting on mum-of-two Helen’s Instagram photos. In some instances, the former sports star branded her “fit” as his flirtatious online behaviour heated up
Images obtained by Mail Online saw the pair looking extremely cosy as they enjoyed their reservation. According to an insider, James and Helen’s bond grew as the pair dealt with their own marriage splits. While James’ divorce from Chloe was well publicised, Helen split from her husband of two years. The mum-of-two had been with her ex for over a decade.
Speaking to the publicaiton, a source said: “James and Helen have kept their relationship relatively low-key, enjoying dates at coffee shops and restaurants, and going for walks since the latter end of 2023. But recently they’ve started to see more of each other and they’re enjoying each other’s company. They haven’t said they’re exclusive yet but they’re certainly dating.”
The source added the duo have a lot in common and continued: “It’s fair to say they’ve helped each other in what has been a tough period of their lives.” They were first snapped together last March. As they’re apparent coupling continues to grow, the source claimed the duo aren’t putting pressure on things but said the couple are “exactly what they both need right now”.
James and Chloe officially parted ways in October 2023 after five years of marriage and over a decade of dating. Appearing on an episode of Olivia Attwood ’s So Wrong It’s Right podcast, Chloe revealed last October what had prompted her to call time on such an enduring romance.
She told the former Love Island star: “I’m one of those people that needs structure and routine. My ex, and I, I think, one of the reasons things became so hard for us was because he thrives in chaos. His schedule, I don’t even remember when he was in England for a full week. He’s all over the place and I just can’t do that. Can’t live like that.”
“I think I knew that I was really unhappy,’ she added. “And I think he knew that he was really unhappy too. But I don’t think either of us ever would have predicted that we were going to break up. Ever.”
