‘There has been a directive for passengers returning to the country to stay in home quarantine, but many have a tendency to violate the directive’

The authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka have begun putting seals on arriving passengers that denote till when they have to stay in home quarantine.

The initiative began from Thursday, an immigration official at the airport told Dhaka Tribune on Friday.

“There has been a directive for passengers returning to the country to stay in home quarantine, but many have a tendency to violate the directive. We have started marking them with seals so they cannot ignore it,” he said.

“The seals also help law enforcement officials and others, as they can see the passengers are out of quarantine and tell them to go back into isolation,” the official added.
