‘I spent £13,000 having my ribs removed – people keep asking if I’m going to eat them’

One beauty fanatic has gone to extremes in a bid to obtain a tiny waist by having six of her ribs removed.

Emily James decided that her waist wasn’t as small as she would like, so decided to undergo the invasive cosmetic procedure to remove part of her skeleton. The 27-year-old forked out a staggering $17,000 (£13,568) for the treatment, and wildly claimed it’s no different to getting a BBL.

The warped operation aims to create a slimmer figure with a more defined waist, but surgeons are extremely reluctant to perform these procedures due to the risks and complications.

Emily, from Kansas City, Missouri also underwent a breast augmentation at the same time as the rib removal and has been sharing her wild cosmetic surgery journey online – to mixed reviews. She gruesomely explained how after her procedure, she was allowed to keep her rib bones and now plans to make them into a crown.

“I plan on having someone make a crown out of them. They let me keep the ribs and I was initially going to gift them to my best friend,” Emily explained. But people have joked about everything from her cannibalising herself to making adult toys out of the rib bones.

While she was recovering, Emily was required to wear a corset 24/7 to help with the swelling, but isn’t in too much pain – and gave credit to her “attentive” team of doctors and nurses. She added: “Getting my ribs removed doesn’t change the fact that I’m a kind loving trans girl. I know some of your moms walk around with BBLS how is this any different. It is my money my body and I’m going to do what I want with it.”

She further detailed in a separate video soon after her operation: “I got my ribs removed yesterday, for cosmetic purposes. They let me keep them. I plan on making them into a crown.”

However she revealed she’s had comments from people to make them into a “chew toy” or “boil them down into a broth”. Emily said her meat would “taste delicious” but revealed she would not be “partaking in cannibalism”.
