Honor, a well-known smartphone brand, has announced its upcoming venture into local manufacturing in Bangladesh through a partnership with Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd. The manufacturing operations are scheduled to commence by the end of 2025, marking Bangladesh as a strategic addition to Honor’s regional expansion initiatives. The company plans to establish a new manufacturing facility at Smart Hi-Tech Park in Kaliakair, focusing on the assembly of devices tailored for the local market.
This strategic move is aimed at enabling future smartphones to display a “Made in Bangladesh” tag, thereby reducing entry barriers and streamlining distribution channels, as highlighted in the official press statement. Smart Technologies anticipates that this collaboration will not only lead to job creation but also contribute to the enhancement of local capabilities in electronics assembly over time.
Honor made its debut in the Bangladeshi market in 2023, aligning with its global strategy, the Honor Alpha Plan. This strategy underscores the brand’s commitment to integrating artificial intelligence, enhancing design elements, and fostering user-centric innovations.
