Holly Willoughby’s new Netflix show in chaos as star ‘packs bag and threatens to leave’

-

New reports have surfaced that Holly Willoughby’s Netflix show Bear Hunt could be in trouble after one star allegedly threatened to quit, claiming the host had been given “special treatment”.

The new Bear Grylls programme could have been thrown into chaos before the first episode has aired with claims surfacing that there may be issues behind the scenes over preferential treatment.

One member of the line-up – which has now been fully confirmed – apparently has not been happy and claimed that producers of the Netflix show have based “every decision” around Holly and her needs.

Danny Cipriani, retired English rugby ace and former boyfriend of actress and radio host Kelly Brooke, is believed to be at the centre of the drama, according to new reports in The Sun.

A source revealed to the publication that Danny had now followed a new spiritual pathway with the rugby ace imploring equality and fairness but believed those values had not been upheld on the programme.

The source said: “Danny seemed to think host Holly was getting special treatment and every decision was being made around her comfort. That’s to be expected for a host – after all, they have to film when she’s available and she’s the star of the show – but it really didn’t sit right with Danny – he’s been pretty open about his spiritual journey as of late and he’s all about things being fair and equal.

“Danny was adamant he was going to leave and even packed his bags, giving producers no option but to step in. They persuaded him to stay but it really ruined the rest of his time on the show.”

They also added: “He made a couple of new friendships but it’s safe to say Danny has ruled out reality TV for good – he was relieved when it was over and couldn’t wait to get back to LA.”

We have approached Netflix for comment on the situation.

There has been a lot of noise about the upcoming reality competition that will premiere on Netflix on February, 5, 2025. The series will follow Bear Grylls as he hunts down a whole host of celebrities as they brave the jungle in Costa Rica.

A while back, producers faced issues with security woes, amid fears the Central America location could prove to be too dangerous, however they seem to have overcome those initial worries and ploughed on.

The line-up was confirmed recently, with Danny, Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas, actor Kola Bikinni, tennis star Boris Becker, Spice Girl singer Mel B, and Saturday’s band member Una Healy all in the running to put Bear through his paces.

Other stars who will feature in the show include grime star Big Zuu, model Lottie Moss, Leomie Anderson and Changing Rooms presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Celebrity Bear Hunt will be available for streaming Netflix on February 5.
