International responses are flooding in following the favorable reaction from Hamas on Friday to US President Donald Trump’s proposal to release Israeli captives in Gaza and bring an end to the nearly two-year strife. Here are the key replies from various parts of the globe:

– United States –
Trump, on Truth Social, expressed his belief that Hamas is prepared for enduring peace based on their recent statement. He called for an immediate halt to the bombing in Gaza to ensure the safe and swift release of the hostages. In a short video message, the US leader assured that all parties would receive fair treatment in the discussions concerning Gaza’s future.

– Israel –
In response to Hamas’s reply, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel is gearing up for the prompt execution of the initial phase of the Trump plan for releasing all hostages. The statement affirmed Israel’s commitment to collaborating closely with the President and his team to put an end to the conflict following the principles in line with President Trump’s vision.

– Mediating Countries –
Qatar’s foreign ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari, expressed a welcoming attitude towards Hamas’s acceptance of President Trump’s plan. Qatar also endorsed Trump’s plea for an immediate ceasefire. Egypt expressed hope that this positive development would prompt all parties to demonstrate responsibility by implementing President Trump’s plan on the ground to conclude the conflict.

– United Nations –
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, through his spokesperson Stephane Dujarric, welcomed and found encouragement in Hamas’s announcement of their willingness to release hostages and engage in talks. He urged all parties to seize the opportunity to put an end to the tragic conflict in Gaza.

– Europe –
French President Emmanuel Macron, optimistic about the situation, mentioned that the release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza are achievable goals. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz viewed the plan as the best chance for peace in the conflict and extended full support to Trump’s call for both sides to act.
