Friendship, a local NGO, provided 1,100 masks to Kurigram district police on Sunday in the wake of deadly novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

Members of police are vulnerable to be affected by Covid-19 as they have to patrol the streets to enforce the government directives over ‘stay at home’ rules, social distancing and health guidelines.
The Inclusive Citizenship Sector of the Friendship took the initiative primarily.
Md Nazmul Hossain, Assistant Project Manager of the Inclusive Citizenship, handed over the masks to Kurigram superintendent of police (SP) in presence of other police officers.
Friendship is founded by Runa Khan, executive director of the NGO, in 2002 and has been working in the northern and southern regions of Bangladesh.
