Tributes to Linda Nolan have come pouring in after news of the star’s tragic death.
The sister of Loose Women star, Coleen Nolan, has sadly died, aged 65, after living with cancer for 20 years. As news of Linda’s passing broke, Coleen, posted: “It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Linda Nolan. She faced incurable cancer with courage, grace & determination, inspiring millions. Surrounded by family, she passed peacefully. A pop icon and beacon of hope, Linda will never be forgotten.”‘
Coleen later posted a snap of the sisters together on Instagram, saying she was “utterly devastated.”
Responding to the post, Linda’s other sister, Anne, posted three red love hearts. Coleen’s legion of loyal fans also sent their love to the Loose Woman star, saying they were thinking of the Nolan Sister singer during her tragic loss.
Following the sad statement, Coleen’s Loose Women pal, Nadia Sawalha, told viewers on the show today: “Nothing prepares because there is a moment when the light goes out, and when the light goes out, that is the most awful shock. They’ve been through so much as a family, sending all our love.”
Meanwhile, host Christine Lampard said: “Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience. Sharing her journey to raise awareness.
“Rest in peace Linda you will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We’ve been talking about Linda for so long with Coleen, you’re never prepared. Our thoughts are with Linda and Coleen’s family.”
Meanwhile, Coleen’s ex, Shane Ritchie, posted: “Sadly my beautiful Aunty Linda passed away this morning surrounded by our family. She was feisty , funny , and always the last to leave a party. She will leave a massive hole in our family. These pictures are from her birthday a few years ago where me and my brother got to sing for her. You don’t realise at the time that these moments are so special. Will miss you Aunty Linda.”
Elsewhere, Love Island star, Amy Hart said Linda was the “nicest lady” as she posted a crying emoji with a love heart in response to Coleen’s post on X.
Daily Mirror columnist, Linda, passed away today with her famous sisters at her side – just days after her last poignant piece for this newspaper. Her final hours were said to have been full of “love and comfort.”
In a statement released to the Mirror, agent Dermot McNamara, said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist.
“She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn’t do enough, they were tireless.”
The statement continued: “She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
