Billionaire Elon Musk, currently the wealthiest individual globally, is on track to potentially become the first trillionaire on Earth, as per a recent report by Forbes magazine. Musk, who heads both Tesla and SpaceX, reached a milestone by attaining a net worth of $500 billion, albeit briefly, boosted by the recovery of his electric vehicle company’s stock following his foray into politics and other positive developments. The 54-year-old entrepreneur’s net worth peaked at $500.1 billion before sliding to $499.1 billion, according to Forbes’ “Real-Time Billionaires” tracker. Following Musk on the list are Oracle CEO Larry Ellison with a net worth of $350.7 billion and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg with $245.8 billion in net worth. Musk, who left Stanford University after attending the University of Pennsylvania, made his initial fortune by selling an online publishing software firm to Compaq for over $300 million in 1999. Subsequently, his next venture merged with PayPal. Departing from PayPal, the tech mogul, born in South Africa, established SpaceX in 2002, a space rocket company, and assumed the role of Tesla’s chairman in 2004.
