Doa and Milad Mahfil for M Shamsul Islam



Doa and Milad Mahfil to pray for the salvation of the departed soul of M Shamsul Islam former Minister and standing committee member of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will be held on Sunday evening after Asar prayer at his own House 2C, Road 8, Baridhara, Dhaka.

All the well-wishers, Friends and families, Relatives are cordially requested to attend the Dua Mahfil.

Born on January 1, 1932, Shamsul Islam had joined BNP’s politics right after the party’s formation in 1978.

He was later appointed Bangladesh High Commissioner to Indonesia in 1979, when military ruler and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman was in power.

Shamsul was elected MP thrice with BNP’s ticket in 1991, 1996 and 2001 from his home constituency Munshiganj-3.

When BNP formed government in 1991, he was first made the state minister for post and telecommunications, and then the food minister.

Later, Shamsul performed as both the food and information minister from 1993 to 1996.

He was first made land minister during BNP’s rule in 2001 and later given the charge of the Information Ministry.
