Darren Till vs Anthony Taylor LIVE result as ex-UFC star makes boxing debut

-

Darren Till made a successful boxing debut when he stopped Anthony Taylor in the sixth round.

Till was scheduled to take on Tommy Fury but the brother of Tyson dramatically pulled out when Till threatened to kick him in the head if he was losing the fight. Ex-UFC star Till has been out of combat action for two years and was the favourite to beat Taylor who has become a fans’ favourite in this scene.

And Till dominated from start to finish as Taylor failed to withstand the storm and was dropped for a final time in the sixth sessions. There was also plenty of action on the undercard and you can re-live it all right here…

Soon after the post-fight interviews, the DAZN broadcast confirmed that Anthony Taylor collapsed to the floor as soon as he left the ring. A medic rushed to the scene, but the American was able to get to his feet.

Anthony was then taken out of the arena in a wheelchair and KSI confirmed that they’re taking him straight to the hospital for tests.

Speedy recovery, Anthony.

“Credit to Anthony, he stepped in late and put up a good fight. Let’s not talk about that ****** who dropped out of this fight. I’ve spent time out of the ring but now am ready for this. Misfits now, let’s see what is in store.”

‘The Gorilla’ ended the interview by calling out the likes of KSI and former UFC opponent Jorge Masvidal.

Darren Till, from start to finish, was quite simply flawless in the ring. That said, Taylor had his moments in the fifth round. ‘Pretty Boy’ showed great heart throughout the contest, but the night belonged to ‘The Gorilla’.

The uppercuts were spot on from Till all night – with Taylor not having an answer for any of them. A brilliant win on his Misfits debut… I wonder what’s next for Till! He’ll no doubt be wanting to stay active inside the squared-circle.

Taylor pushes forward… he’s woken up here a little bit! But Till comes back with a nice left hand, pushing the American back.

Till lands another uppercut and down goes Taylor again! The American beats the count, but how much more has he got left to give? ‘The Gorilla’ sees that the finish is near.

The Liverpudlian presses forward again as he lands two clean left hands, followed by a right! A third left hand drops Taylor who falls face-first to the canvas…. surely that’s it? AND IT IS!!!! HUGE WIN FOR TILL. What a performance from start to finish from the former welterweight UFC title challenger.

Till lands another uppercut, but Taylor returns fire with shots of his own. Great heart from ‘Pretty Boy.’ A huge overhand buckles Till and there seems to be some blode gushing out of Darren’s nose.

Darren is starting to slow down here and we reach the end of the round. By far Taylor’s best round… he’ll taken a lot of confidence from the exchanges in the fifth.

Till begin on the frontfoot, but Taylor lands a sneaky low blow there. Darren just establishing jab here in the opening exchanges in the second round. It’s a bit of a feeling out process from both men so far.

Darren opening up with a nice combo and an uppercut, but Taylor takes it very well. The Brit’s lead hand has been spot on so far as he’s managing the fight brilliantly. Darren lands some nice shots upstairs… can Till finish it here?! The Liverpudlian is teeing off, but Taylor sees the second bell. Great six minutes from the former UFC title challenger.

Anthony Taylor straight off the blocks with a right hand. The size difference between the two is ridiculous. Darren is now closing down the ring and making the American backpedal.

Till pressing early as Taylor absorbs a few shots. Great start to the round as Till maintains the forward pressure with just under a minute to go. The Brit continues to pepper Taylor with the left hand before finishing the opening three minutes with another left downstairs.

Apologies for that circus just then, folks. KSI was really playing the pantomime villain. Thankfully, it’s all over now and we’re back to the action.

Both Anthony Taylor and Darren Till are about to enter the ring. We’re just moments away from the main event.

KSI entered the ring to confirm that he had an announcement… only to say he didn’t have an announcement???

The camera then panned to several of the big stars ringside, including Tony Bellew and Luke Littler.

And elderly gentlemen entered the arena and tried to get on the stage, calling out KSI before he was escorted away. Eventually, former Premier League footballer Wayne Bridge walked into the cage.

Bridge and KSI were quick to go nose-to-nose before a argy bargys as tensions started to get a little heated. It seems like it’s KSI vs Bridge in March!

Two former MMA stars will go head-to-head inside the boxing ring in the main event at Misfits 20. Anthony Taylor has a lot of experience when it comes to fighting on the influencer boxing scene and already boasts wins over the likes of Salt Papi and King Kenny. After beating Gabriel Silva in his last outing, Taylor will be stepping up on short notice to take on Darren Till – who will be making his professional boxing debut on home soil.

An impressive debut from Wade Plemons as he showed that he belongs in Misfits. Potentially a future champion? He’ll be gutted not to get the finish, but still caught the eye of many and has certainly put the heavyweight division on notice.

The future definitely looks bright for the American under the Misfits banner as he gets his hand raised here in Manchester.

The official scorecards read: 40-36, 39-37, 40-36 – all in favour of Plemons.

The Masai Warrior clearly has a lack of confidence at the moment as he’s taking a lot of damage. Can he land anything himself?

Just under 30 seconds to go as Plemons lands a nice jab to the body and pushing forward as he lands yet another right hand to finish the round. Great start from Wade.

Our co-main event is just seconds away as both are now making their way to the ring. Fireworks are guaranteed with this one. You do not want to miss this…

Ty Mitchell impresses immensely on his Misfits Boxing debut. From start to finish, Fury’s former sparring partner was quick off the blocks, implementing his dominant style.

He’s got some crucial minutes under the belt and the future under the Misfits banner looks bright from Mitchell. Credit to Hench – who gave it a go and showed his durability – but in the end, Ty’s skill paid dividends.

Tommy Hench still in the contest as Ty begins pushing forward once again. The ‘Judge’ eating a lot of shots here as the ropes holds him up and Hench receives a standing eight count.

Surely the end is near as Hench goes down again! He’s decided to run away from Mitchell before falling to the canvas…. there’s no way he gets up from this

He CAN’T… the referee waves it off. What an impressive debut from Ty Mitchell. It was the left hand from Ty that caught Hench as he was on his way out that ended the clash. Incredible!

You can tell Ty has sparred with Tyson Fury before as he’s clearly the better fighter. Mitchell trying to pick up from where he left off as he begins on the front foot with a few jabs to the body.
