Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the cheque handover program via videoconferencing

Bangladesh Police has donated Tk20 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to help combat the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Md Javed Patwary handed over the cheque to the prime minister’s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the cheque handover program via videoconferencing from Ganabhaban.

Money from one-day salary of police officials ranging from a constable to the IGP, Bangladesh Police Service Association (BPSA), Police Officers’ Mess, and Police Welfare Trust are included the Tk20 crore donation.

Rapid Action Battalion Director General Dr Benazir Ahmed, Additional IGP (Administration and Operations) Dr Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, Special Branch Additional IGP Mir Shahidul Islam, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner and BPSA President Md Shafiqul Islam, and Narayanganj Superintendent of Police and BPSA General Secretary Jayedul Alam were among others present at the program.
