Coronation Street spoilers: Cassie ‘exposed’ and father of Daisy’s baby revealed

-

There’s twists and turns ahead on Coronation Street next week, with some massive discoveries and plots taking new turns.

Lauren Bolton’s trial continues, while there’s an update following Carla Connor’s hospitalisation. A beloved character is sadly injured amid a revenge scheme, while there’s also a hospital dash – and soon a DNA twist is revealed.

There’s also big hints of an exit, while two characters could find their big secrets exposed. Abi Franklin also continues to struggle in the fallout to Mason Radcliffe’s murder.

One of the bigger plots of the week sees pregnant Daisy Midgeley rushed to hospital, amid the news the character will be leaving the ITV soap later this year. She currently has no idea whether Daniel Osbourne or Kit Green are the baby’s father, and next week the results are revealed to her.

Prior to this, Daisy is feeling stressed as her lies continue. Daniel is doing his best to keep his betrayal from fiancée Bethany Platt ahead of her move to London for work. She’s keen for Daniel to trial a move with her, and in a bid to prove his love to her they set a date for their wedding.

Amid this, Daniel tells Daisy he wants her to take a DNA test to determine whether he is the father. He goes with her for the appointment, but soon her baby secret is rumbled when Bethany comes across a positive pregnancy test in Daisy’s bag.

As she continues to cover for Daniel she’s left angry to see how close he is with Bethany and she could end up taking action. Her stepmother Jenny Connor soon finds her doubled up in pain in the back room and takes her to hospital, where Kit soon joins.

Later in the week, Bethany gathers her things for her big move and her mother Sarah Platt rails at Daisy for destroying her daughter’s relationship – so has the truth come out? Daisy later receives the result of the DNA test but instead of telling anyone she deletes it, keeping the father’s identity to herself.

Elsewhere on the Cobbles, there’s concern for Abi as she continues to experience hallucinations after Mason’s death. But Toyah Battersby’s attempts to help her turn sour, and she faces an accusation.

Also next week, Carla is back home after her stint in hospital. Her partner Lisa Swain vows to look after her, but with Carla’s brother Rob Donovan back on the show could there be trouble ahead?

Cassie Plummer could find her actions towards Ken Barlow rumbled next week too, after she was caught drugging him recently. After she continues to spend his cash, Cassie is stunned when Ken finds out from Daniel that little Bertie has revealed all about the pills in his drink – so how will she get out of this one?

There’s trouble ahead for David Platt too amid his marriage drama and him having to pay back Harvey Gaskell’s stolen money. He considers turning to a life of crime when the amount owed goes up, and things only get worse when his dog is run over and injured – but is Harvey and his men behind it?

Finally, Lauren returns to court as her trial continues – months on from her killing Joel Deering. But when her baby son Frankie’s health takes a turn for the worse, she’s left inconsolable.

Soon newcomer Brie is trying to tarnish Lauren’s name in court, claiming she was attacked in prison by her. Lauren assures her barrister she did no such thing, and soon she makes a comment that could only worsen matters.

Lauren regrets losing her temper and fears her fate is sealed, but her mind is only on Frankie. As the barristers deliver their closing statements to the jury in court, it’s revealed the jury can’t reach an agreement but soon a verdict comes in – so what will happen to Lauren?
