A Citibank boss has been found beaten to death in her home as police launch an urgent manhunt to catch her killer.
Officers attended the house in Woolwich, south-east London at around 5.25pm on Friday, 17 January after recieving a concern for welfare. Inside they found the body of 43-year-old Marianne Kilonzi.
Marianne was Vice President of Trade and Working Capital Sales, Treasury and Trade Solutions at Citibank, which has offices in London and around the world. A post-mortem on Saturday confirmed blunt force trauma and head injury as her cause of death. No arrests have been made and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Met Police’s Detective Chief Inspector Suzanne Soren, from Specialist Crime South, who is leading the investigation said: “This is a tragic crime and our thoughts at this incredibly difficult time are with Marianne’s loved ones and colleagues. We are in contact with her family, who are being supported by specialist colleagues.
“I know this is a concerning time for the wider community and want to reassure the public that whilst we are in the early stages of this investigation, we believe the suspect was known to Marianne and there is no wider risk to the public. A Citibank spokesperson told the Mirror: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. Our thoughts are with Marianne’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
