BBC The One Show hosts accused of ‘giving film away’ as actor addresses ‘problem’

-

Things took an awkward turn during the latest episode of The One Show as presenter Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne were called out by one of their guests.

On Tuesday’s instalment of the popular BBC programme the stars of the new film, William Tell, appeared on the famous green sofa.

Actors Claes Bang, Jonah Hauer-King and Ellie Bamber were excited to discuss bringing the legendary tale to the big screen and some of the challenges they faced while doing so.

But before the interview got underway, a short clip was shown to viewers at home to provide details about the fictional character William Tell and his extraordinary story. But when the camera cut back to the studio, Actor Claes appeared less than impressed.

Claes, who plays the main character William, said: “Now people don’t need to go and see the movie. It’s really a problem.”

Reassuring him that not many spoilers were given away in the clip, Lauren said: “There’s no spoilers in that, it’s mainly a primer, Claes. Don’t panic, don’t panic!”

He replied: “Are you sure? You gave it all away!”

But Alex stepped in and said: “The movie is so much more!” Which appeared to calm Claes down.

Despite the rest of the interview going smoothly, this wasn’t the only blunder that occurred with a guest during the episode.

Later on in the programme, singer Paloma Faith appeared on the show to discuss her brand new podcast, Mad, Sad and Bad which she films in the comfort of her own home.

Sharing wonderful stories of the interviews she’s conducted, Paloma thrilled hosts Alex and Lauren with her stories.

But when it was time to close the show and share where fans can listen to their new podcast, Lauren made a mishap by saying: “You can listen to Paloma’s podcast, Mad, Sad and Bad from the 20th of January on all other…”

But Paloma stepped forward and shouted, “28th.” She then added, “Sorry, everyone. It’s 28th before we all get in trouble!”

Lauren then interjected and said: “That’s all we got time for tonight. Thank you to our guests!”
