BBC Silent Witness star Emelia Fox lets slip Nikki and Jack wedding details

Emilia Fox has shared some teasers about the new series of Silent Witness.

The hit series returned to TV screens with a 28th season earlier this month.

Fans have been eager to see what’s to come for Emilia’s character Dr Nikki Alexander and her partner Jack Hodgson, played by David Caves, after he proposed during the finale of last series.

Emilia appeared on The One Show with her Silent Witness co-star Francesca Mills, who plays Kit Brooks, on Monday (January 13). Discussing the new series, Emilia hinted that there could be chaos to come during Nikki and Jack’s nuptials, as her chatacter struggles.

“Now, there’s that commitment that’s been made. And, with this series, we see Jack trying to plan the perfect wedding and Nikki’s sort of paralysed by how much there is to put in to arrange a marriage,” Emilia revealed to hosts Vernon Kay and Alex Jones.

Sharing more about her character’s struggles, the actress added: “So, she doesn’t even know where to begin. Kit and Harriett are the observers of what’s going on in their relationship and they give their input. We’ll see what happens.”

Fans are no doubt excited to see Nikki and Jack’s wedding, after years of their ‘will they, won’t they’ dynamic. Emilia and David have acted side by side in Silent Witness for 13 years, and the actress has nothing but praise for her co-star.

In a chat with the BBC, she gushed about her partnership with Caves on the show, saying: “We both love the show, we never take it for granted and want it to be the best. We have a very similar approach to our work. You can always rely on him for the most amazing performance. He’s an incredibly skilled actor, which makes it very easy to play opposite him.”

She also highlighted the deep trust and familiarity they share, adding: “But we also have a familiarity and a trust in each other. I trust him more than any other actor I’ve ever worked with,” before saying of their friendship: “How lucky it is to have that friendship, on screen and off screen. I really love working with him.”

The One Show airs on weeknights on BBC One at 7pm and every single series of Silent Witness from one to 28 is available on demand via BBC iPlayer
