Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has invited billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh and oversee the rollout of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service within the next 90 working days. In a formal communication dated February 19, Yunus emphasized the potential of Starlink’s connectivity for various sectors in Bangladesh, including youth entrepreneurs, rural areas, and underserved populations. Yunus highlighted that integrating Starlink’s connectivity into the country’s infrastructure could bring significant transformation, especially benefiting enterprising youth, rural women, and remote communities. To facilitate the process, Yunus has assigned his High Representative, Khalilur Rahman, to collaborate closely with Musk’s team for the swift implementation of Starlink in Bangladesh. This invitation stems from a productive phone conversation between Yunus and Musk on February 13, during which they discussed potential collaboration opportunities.
