Bangladesh maintained their impressive performance in the CAVA Cup Men’s Volleyball Championship 2025 as they secured a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Sri Lanka at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. Initially taking a commanding two-set lead, Bangladesh faced a strong resurgence from Sri Lanka before ultimately clinching the match in the final set.
The Bangladesh team, known as the Red and Green brigade, prevailed with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 15-25, 22-25, and 15-11, marking their third consecutive triumph in the tournament. The decisive fifth set was a tense affair, with both teams locked at 11-11. However, Bangladesh exhibited remarkable composure and secured four consecutive points to secure the overall victory.
Naeem was recognized as the player-of-the-match for his exceptional performance across all aspects of the game. Prior to this match, Bangladesh had defeated the Maldives 3-0 and narrowly overcome Nepal 3-2 in the competitive six-nation championship.
