“Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Series Begins April 20”

-

The Bangladesh and Sri Lanka women’s cricket teams are gearing up for an exciting white-ball series set to kick off on April 20 in Rajshahi and Sylhet.

As part of the Women’s Future Tours Programme, the series will commence with a three-match WODI series. The Sri Lankan squad, accompanied by their new head coach Jamie Siddons, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on April 17 before heading to Rajshahi.

The action will begin at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on April 20, followed by two more matches at the same venue on April 22 and April 25. All games are slated to start at 9:30 am local time.

Subsequently, the teams will move to Sylhet for a three-match WT20I series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on April 28, April 30, and May 2. The matches will be played under lights, kicking off at 6:00 pm local time.

For Bangladesh, the ODI series marks their return to the 50-over format since their appearance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 held in India and Sri Lanka last year. On the other hand, the T20I series will serve as valuable preparation ahead of the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales this June–July. Prior to the World Cup, Bangladesh is also lined up to participate in a T20I tri-series with Scotland and the Netherlands women’s teams.
