Anthropic Opens Bengaluru Office, Expands Partnerships

Anthropic, the AI firm behind the Claude chatbot, has inaugurated its inaugural office in Bengaluru, India. The company made this announcement in conjunction with a range of partnerships across various sectors including enterprise, education, agriculture, and the public sector. According to Anthropic, India ranks as the second-largest market for Claude.ai, with a significant portion of its usage focused on computer and mathematical functions like app development and software deployment.

In an effort to enhance AI capabilities in Indian languages, Anthropic is dedicated to curating top-tier training data in ten prominent languages. Noteworthy collaborations include teaming up with Indian startup Karya and the Collective Intelligence Project to create assessments that evaluate performance in agriculture and legal tasks relevant to the local context. Additionally, Anthropic is collaborating with Indian nonprofits like Digital Green and Adalat AI to further its mission.
