Anne Robinson, the formidable ex-host of The Weakest Link, known for her biting wit and the nickname “Queen of Mean”, has delivered a terse three-word retort when quizzed about her alleged romance with Queen Camilla’s former spouse, Andrew Parker Bowles. In a chat with the i newspaper, Anne, 80, was probed about her involvement with Mr Parker Bowles, to which she sharply replied: “None of your business.”
Last May, rumours swirled that Anne was seeing the ex-British Army officer, a claim she seemed to confirm in a Saga Magazine interview, responding to the gossip with the curt reply: “Yes. Full Stop. Mind your own business.”
Queen Camilla, 77, tied the knot with Mr Parker Bowles, 85, in 1973 and they had two children before their 1995 divorce.
Camilla later married King Charles. Anne herself has been married twice, first to newspaper executive Charles Wilson and then John Penrose.
Adding to the whispers, Tom Parker Bowles, the Queen’s son and a food writer, is set to feature in a special stage edition of The Weakest Link, reports the Express.
Anne is set to host a star-studded charity event to raise funds for her local primary school, with celebrities like Toyah Willcox, Kay Burley, and Boris Johnson’s father, Stanley, joining the fray. The veteran presenter, who bid farewell to the BBC quiz show The Weakest Link in 2011 after over 1,600 episodes, described her departure as a “hard decision” and reminisced about her “been superb” time on the show to the BBC.
Despite leaving, Anne’s legacy continued when The Weakest Link made a comeback eight years later with Romesh Ranganathan at the helm. In conversation with the Mail, Anne revealed that the revival aims to support Hatherop Primary’s transition from “leaking prefab classrooms” to a “proper building”.
She humorously noted her preparation for her hosting return: “I’ve doubled my Pilates classes and am training to stand upright.”
